The council met as the Board of Review in the counciJC ehambers of the
Village Hall* 6700 Portland Ave. at 9:00 A,M,
Present: Anderson, Schultz, Serstock, Keldsen,
Absent: Shields CI11)
i~Payne Johnson and George Sund from Hennepin County Supervisor of
Assessment office were also present,
Mr. Berg, .6920 ist.Ave. S., objected to i5Q addition to his house being
valued at $2800 for tax purposes.
Motion by Reldseri, seconded by Schultz, that the value b e set at
$2000,00 for tax purposes. All ayes m carriede
Hugh i~eber, 7620 16th Ave, S. stated he pays $750000 taxes on his house
which he feels is overvalued at $27,500,00
Motion by Schultz, seconded by Serstock, that the value of the ho~~e
for tax purposes be reduced to $25,000 on the basis of obsolescence, Ali ayes m

A discussion was held on personal property valuations for the follow=
ing firms :
Nelson Drug. Co. Fredericks~Willis
Richfield Pharmacy Hatch Firestone
Snyder*s Drug e Lyndale Stillman°s Grocery
Snyder®s Drug s Southdale Sq, Taites Super Market
AndersonQs Hi~Fi Schmelz Broso Volkswagen
Jay°s Camera Lindahl Oldsmobile
The above were. questioned and it was decided to notify the property
owners of the personal property valuations established by the assessnr so as
to give them an opportunity to voice their opinie~n and appear before the Board
of Review on July 27th if they could not reach an agreement before that tim' with
the .assessnre
The meeting adjourned until July 27, 1961 at 4:30 Palle
