04-10-1961VILLAGE OF RICHPIBLD Regular Meeting April 10, 1961 The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session, Monday, April 11, 1961 in the council chambers of the Village Hall, 6700 Portland Aved, at 7x00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Keldsen. Present: Anderson, Schultz, Serstock, Shields and Keldsen. Absento None. Pastor J. H, Long ley, Emerson Congregational Church, gave the invocation. 1. Minutes Motion by Schultz, seconded by Shields, that the minutes of the regular meeting of March 27, 1961 be approved as corrected to include 99Richard Walsh°s verbal agreement to assess Parcel #610 only°° under item #10, and the special meeting of March 30, 1961 be approved. All ayes carried. 2. Reports Motion by Shields, seconded by Serstock, that the following reports be accepted and filed: Inspection report, March 1961 C®6356 Henns County Relief report, Mar. 1961 Cm6357 Liquor Stores report, Feb. 1961 C-6358 All ayes m carried. 3. Minute Excerpts from Mothers° Club Motion by Shields, seconded by Keldsen, that the excerpts from the minutes of the Richfield Mothers° Club, Chap. Library Building Motion by Schultz, seconded by Shields, that the council accept a dona- tion of $11,000.00 from Community Centers, Inc, for improvements and furnishm ings of the community room in the new public library, with money allocated to a special account in library construction fund to be used only for such purm pose. All ayes ~ carried. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Keldsen, that a suitable plaque be placed in said community room recognizing this donation. All ayes m carried. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Serstock, that the council authorize ad- ditional construction costs for sod and landscaping for the library estimated at $1100,00 to be paid from the Public Works Reserve Funds All apes carried. 7,~ Letter from American Municipal Association The village attorney studied the legality of the question regarding a financial contribution to the Inter American Municipal Organization and found no clear authority, therefore he recommended that the village should not donate to the organization, The League of Minnesota.
