01-04-1960 SpecialVILLAGE OP RICHPIBLD Special Meting January 4,, 1960 After due calr and notice, the councix of the Village of Richfield met in special session in the council chambers of the Viila~e Hali, Monday, January 4, 1960 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Reldsen. . Present: Anderson, Schultz, Serstock, Shields and Keids~en, Absents None. 1~T.on Range Planning Commission Appointments Mayor $eldsen called for consideration of the appointment of members to the Long Range Planning Commission for 1960 which matter had been deferred from the meeting of December 28, 1959. Shultheis, 6328, Grand Ave., be appointed as the fifth member of the Piannix;g Commission for 1960, Carried.. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Serstock, that the council.commend Mrs.. Muriel Grunditz for her services on the Long Range Planning Board by the presentation of a letter and certificate of award to her at the meeting of the council on January 11, 1960. Carried. 2. Appointments for 1960 Motion bq Schultz, seconded by Shields, that Councilman Anderson be appointed as acting mayor for 1960. Carried. Motion by Shields, seconded by Schultz, that Councilman Serstock be appointed as council representative on the Employees Advisory Board. Carried. Motion by Keldsen, seconded by Schultz, that Councilman Shields be appointed as council representative on the ,Hennepin County Relief. Carried. Motion by Shields, seconded by Schultz, that Councilman Serstock be appointed council representative on the Long Range Planning Commission. Carried. Motion by Keldsen, seconded by Shields, that Councilman Anderson be appointed council representative on recreation in the Village. Carried. Motion by Serstock, seconded by Shields, that Robert Long be appointed deputy weed inspector for 1960.. Carried. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Serstock, that Councilman Anderson be appointed council representative on the Hennepin County Nursing Associa- tion. Carried. Motion by. Schultz, seconded by Serwtock, that Mayor Keldsen be appointed as ~ uncil representative to the Rural Hennepin County League of Municipal- sties. Carried. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Serstock, that R~ L. Nordstrom and Robert Bkstein be appointed as 1960 process servers for the vil'1age. Carried. 3.r Designation of Official Paper Motion by Schultz, seconded by Shields, that the council designate the Richfield News as the official publication of the village for the year 19600 Carried. 4.. C®5?3S 6, Meek-Water Problem The council agreed that January 26, 1960, 7s30 PaM. be set for a meet® ix~g on water with the Long Range Planning Commission, an engineering firm on water and a representative from the state health department. 7, Park Planner It was agreed by the council that the park planner attend the meeting of the council ~n January 12, 1960. 8.~ Report on Sewer Hookmups A discussion was held on the number of sewer hookups in the village with the thought in mind that October 1, 1960 be selected as the date for 100% hook ups. 9.
