11-03-1959 SpecialVILLAGE OP RTCHPIBLD Special Meeting November 3~ 1959 After due call and notice, the council of the Village cif Richfield met in special. session 3n the council chambers of the Village Hail, 6700 Portland Ave. Tuesdays November 3, 1959 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Magor Keldsen. Present: Anderson, Schultz, Waliick, Serstock and Keidsen. Absent: None. Park Planner .~..~.~ A discussion took place on a proposed park planner-for the Village of Richfield. Motion by Keldsen, seconded by Anderson, that the councli authorize the engagement of Nason,, Law, Wehrman~ Knight, Morell. 8: Nichols., Inc., landscape architects, to submit a study of park needs for the village. Carried. P ois Robert Gunderson and Loren Gasterland of the school.board presented the school°s ideas and the resolution on swimming poQis• Don Sullivan, ?626 Nicoilet Ave•, requested whether faciiities~ would be available to parnchiai schools. VITm, Kirchner, Richfield State Sank, spoke for Community Centers, Inc. Barks The manager presented the type of plans to be obtained from the park planner not later than February 1, 19,60. Lib, ` racy . Mrs. Kermit Haugen, 7421 Lyndale Ave. S•, spoke on needs of the library. Miss Helen Young, county librarian and her assistant were present. The mayor requested a written report to be given to the council from the library proponents. Robert Moss f eit that the library should be a separate consideration and not included in the present issuts; asked that liquor store funds}be he id to build this at year's end. Mrs. Dyste, Richf ieid librarian, reported on needs with the largest circulation in the county. Mrs. Molsather spoke on library needs. Mayor Keldsen proposed another meeting on the bond issue question on January 12, 1959 and a final meeting two weeks from that date.
