07-17-1959VILIAGB OF RICHPIBLD Adjourned Meeting July 17, 1959 Pursuant to action at the meeting of July 13, 1959, the council of the Village of Richfield met in adjourned session, Friday, July 17, 1959 at 4:30 P•M• The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Wallick. Present: Anderson, Schultz, Wallick• Absent: Serstock, Keidsen• 1• Deferred Action -Apartment Use Permit - 6932-36 Nicollet Ave. Acting Mayor Wallick cal led for action on the application of John T. Carroll, 6945 Nicollet Ave. for an apartment use permit at 6932.-36 Nicolle t, which had been deferred from the meeting of July ]3 , 1959. John T. Carroll, applicant, appeared. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Wallick, that the council grant the apart- went use permit to John T• Carroll, 6945 Nicollet Ave. for one 4-unit apartment building at 6932-6936 Nicollet Ave. to be constructed with stucco exterior. Po11 of votes: Ayes - Anderson, Schultz, Wallick• Nays - none. Absent - Serstock and Keldsen. Carried. 2~ Commercial Building Permit - 7401-13-21 Penn and7400-12-20 Oliver Ave, Acting Mayor Wallick called for consideration of the commercial building permit request of Lyle C. Otto, 6507 Nicollet Ave. for five 11-unit apartment buildings at ?4th, Oliver and Penn, which matter had been deferred from the meeting of July 13, 1959•. Three plans (A, B and C) were presented. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Wallick, that the council grant a permit for five li-unit apartment buildings at 7401-13-21 Penn Ave. and 7400-12.»20 Oliver Ave• on Plan C with 74th St• open for future development, and permit fox a swimming pool given subject to specif ications as will be set forth in the proposed swimming pool ordinance. Carried. Ad3ourned Meeting - 2 - July 17, 1959 Motion by Schultz, seconded by Anderson that the council grant tentative approval to the off-street parking layout at 7401-13-21 Penn Ave, and 7400-12- 20 Oliver Ave. under Plan C with stipulations for pool and lighting. Carried. 3. Commercial Building Permit - 6932-36 Nicollet Ave. Acting Mayor Wallick called for consideration of the commercial build- Ong permit request of John T. Carroll, 6945 Nicollet Ave. for one 4-unit apartment building at 6932-36 Nicoile t Ave. which matter had been d eferred from the meeting of July 13, 1959. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Wallick, that the commercial building permit of John T. Carroll, 6945 Nicollet Ave. be granted for one 4-unit apartment building at 6932-36 Nicollet Ave. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Schultz, that the council grant tenta- tive approval to the off-street parking layout at 6932-36 Nicollet Ave. Carried. Thy council recessed until 6:00 P.M. The council reconvened at 6:00 P.M. with the f oilowing present: Anderson, Schultz, Wallick. Absent - Serstock and Keidsen. Acting Mayor Wallick called for the question of the Little League Build- ing proposed to be moved to 21st Avenue. Mr. Hildebrand stated that the Board of Directors of Little League turned down the proposal because it was felt that lack of man-hours was a block in the way of successful moving. The village manager reported that Roy Johnson, airport director of M.A.C. stated an unfavorable attitude toward the moving of the building to this location. Needham Bob McNamee The question was raised 6814 - 20th Ave. 6838 - 20th Ave. 6810 - ~ th Ave. 6835 - 20th Ave. 6834 - 20th Ave. as to whether there was a fund that could be used for this purpose;. answered by Acting Mayor Wallick that no such fund was available. Mrs. Pinchon 6821 - 2;?th Ave. appeared Mr. Needham 6835 - 20th Ave. appeared. The council instructed the engineer to bring in a cost estimate at the next council meeting on bringing the lots up to level. Motion by Anderson, seconded by Schultz, that the meeting be adjourned.
