It being 7x15 P.M., Mayor Keidsen called for the hearing on the application to vacate an alley near 63rd St, between Oliver & Penn Avea which hearing had been deferred from the meeting of May 25th, A letter from Northern States Power Co. dated June 2, 1959 was read offering no ob3ection by the Northern States Power Co, to the va- cation of portion of the alley, providing the company was granted an easement for their use. -•4- June 8, 1959 Motion by Waiiick, seconded by $erstock, that the letter from Northern States Power Co. be accepted and f i1ed. Carried. C-5444 &iward Galbraith, attorney for property owners in the neighborhood, requested that the council defer any action on this matter until the next meeting as further testimony to be considered by the council was being prepared and was .not ready for presentation. The council agreed to reopen the hearing for ten minutes. Stanley B. t~insness spoke in opposition. Mrs.. Frank Musi 1, 6310 Oliver Ave, objected- to turn 3.n alley and the lessening of parking availability in the rear yards, Motion by Schultz,- seconded by Anderson, that the council defer action on this matter and reopen hearing at the next meeting.
