Mayor Keldsen called for the matter of use of land at 6340 Lyndale Ave.,,

William F. Curtiss owner, appeared in support of his application to
operate a tree service business at 6340 Lyndale Aveb and explained his pro-
posed operations.
Charles Adams, 6336 Lyndale Ave.A opposed the renovation of property
without complying with current setback requirements.
The attorney explained that the only question before the council was
on the propriety of a tree service operating in a commercial distract.

a tree service as a proper use in a G2 (general commercial) District pro-
viding that the operation is carried on entirely within the building or
buildings.

Motion by Schultz,, seconded by Wailick that the council allow check
#6749 in the amount of $10,245.72 on Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis
for the redemption of ten improvement bonds of 1955, 3.40%, date June 1,. 1955;
to June la 1960, Bond Nos. 241/!250, Coupon Nos. 7/10 attached, Prise 102.24,
Yield 2.25%. Carried.
3S. Proposed Street-- Lake-Shore Drive between Hwy.. #65 and Girard
The manager presented a report on the proposed street,. Lake Shore
Drive between Highway #65 and Girard Ave.
Motion by 5erstock,, seconded by Waliick,, that the council approve
the request to construct a full width street on Lake Shore Drive between Hwy.
#65 and Girard Ave. and especially in front of the. three north facing lots,
work to be done at no cost to the Village, entire costs to be borne by
abutting property. The work is to be supervised by the Village Bngineer.

39. Pour WaY Stop - Nicollet & 70th
The manager presented a report on traffic control at Nicollet and
70th Street.

The manager reported the f oliowing on mosquito control: Mr« Buzicky
of the Metropolitan Mosquito Control and head of the five county mosquito
control, reported generally that they had covered all man made and natural
ponds "li.ke a blanket"' by treating same for the destruction of larva, and
will continue to do soy but there will be no spraying for adult mosquitoes.

The manager reported on an application for a 5-d.ay carnival license
from the Hub Business Mens' Association and read a letter dated June 23„ 1958
concerning the application,

peared. A discussion followed.
Motion by SerstockA seconded by Schultz, that the council grant the
appiica~tion for a b day carnival license, and that the fees be waived on the
condition that off-duty Richfield police be employed for control of traffic
saa.in~$~nance of order and enforcement of Yiiiage ordinances. Carried.
48. Paving b6th St. - 1st Ave. to Cedar Ave,
The council informally agreed that a request be made to Hennepin
County for consideration in their budget-for 1959 for construction of pave-
ment with concrete on 66th St. from:ist Ave. to Cedar Aver on the same
basis as the paving of 66th 5t. from Lyndaie Ave. to Penn Ave. The Village
share of financing to be partially financed from municipal state aid road
money as much as possible.
49. Dra~l3ne Operation -_Augsburg Park
The council approved dragiine operation performed in Augsburg Park,
work to be accomplished by school board under the supervision a+f the Village
engineer.
