The manager announced the presentation of an Bd Gibb•s News Letter 1A$dgar"`
award to the Richfield Liquor Store for brand name merchandising in recognition
of an effective contribution to the welfare, progress and public good will for
brand sales and liquor industries for 1957.
4. Request to Rezone - Loan-,_ 77th_St.
The council considered the request of J• 8. Labo to rezone property at
iogan Ave. and 77th St., which matter had been heard at the regular council

It being 7:i5 P.M., Mayor Keldsen called for the hearing on the rezoning

of hearing.

No persons appeared in opposition.

the manager and attorney to draft an amendment to the zoning oxdinance to

Motion by Wa113ckp seconded by Schultz, that the council authorize the
clerk to advertise for bids on the grading of t}~~ ~s~ north of 66th Street
between Chicago Ave. and 10th Ave.; bids to be opened July 8, 1958. Carried.
12. Authorize_Advertisement of Bids -Calculator
Motion by Schultz, seconded by Anderson,, that the council authorize the
clerk to advertise far bids on an electric caiculatox for the Cedar Avenue
Liquor Stores bids to be opened July 8~ 1958• Carried.
13. Set Date for Board of Canvass
Motion by Waliick,, seconded by Schultz,, that the council meet immediately
at the close of the council meeting to canvass the votes of the Special Elec-
tionA May 28, 1958, Carried.
14. Rate Schedule -_Northern States Power Co.
A letter and two folders on information from the Northern States Power
Co. dated May 28~ 1958 were presented showing the residential electric rate
schedules on hat water heaters in the community.
Motion by Schultze seconded by Anderson=, that the letter 'from Northern

15. Estimate
Motion by Waliickr seconded by Serstock„ that the following estimate
be allowed:

16. Discussion of Use of Property - 6340 Lyndale Ave.
T discussed the proposed alterations to a frame building at
6B40 Lyndale Ave.. for use as a tree service. The problem of whether or not

a tree service is a permitted use in a general commercial district was dis-
cussed.
Motion by Schultz,. seconded by Anderson,, that the council defer action
until the manager has contacted William F. Curtis, owner, 6340 Lyndale Ave.,
to ascertain his willingness to comply with the setback requirements of the
zoning ordinance.

17. Discussion of Use of Property - 6726 Penn Ave.
Dick Gindarff,, 5040 Windsor Ave., appeared to describe his proposed
operation of assembling pizzas at 6726 Penn Ave. for distribution to retailers.
Motion by Wallick„ seconded by Schultz,. that the council allow the pre-
paration of food for packing or cooking elsewhere where such activity is
limited to a maximum of 2500 square feet of f soar space and where a maximum
of 8 people are so engaged. Carried«
18. Railroad and Warehouse Commission
~ Motion by Schultz, seconded by Anderson„ that the notice from the
Railroad & Warehouse Commission regarding further hearing on fares dated
June 3,. 1958 be accepted and filed. Carried. C-4972
19. Long Range Planning Commission Appointments
Motion by Wallick,, seconded by Anderson,; that the letter of resignation
dated May 16,. 1958 from Edward M. Arundel„ a member of the Long Range Planning
