Mayor Reldsen read a letter dated January 20„ 1958 from James B. Gottliebr attorney for Aage Rasmussen withdrawing the application far a.speciat use permit for a bowling alley at ?244 Portland Ave. Motion by Anderson,, seconded by Schultz, that the counciY accept the withdrawal of Aage Rasmussen,, ??20 Portland Ave.y for a special use permit for a bowling alley. Clarence Christians 1100 B. 66th Sta, appeared ob3ecting to thin rezoning without rezoning of corresponding property to the south. No oti-er persons appeared. Motion by Serstock~ seconded by Schultz, that the council authorize the manager and attorney to draw an amendment to the zoning ordinance to rezone a1i that area located north of Rae Drive,. bounded ~*- the west by Wood Lake School property, an the north by the proposed 65th St« right-of way, on the east by the proposed Aae Drive extended north to 65th St.., from residential to multiple residence« Carried. 13. Pederson Hennepin County Highway Engineer, appeared to explain to the council and interested persons the preliminary right-of -waq plans an proposed 62nd St« Crosstown Highway. Motion by Serstock seconded by Anderson, that the proposed layout and f grade lines for the 62nd 5t. Crosstown Highway presented by the Iennepin County Engineer be given Clerk's Pile #4811 and ordered placed on file; that the layout and grade as shown on said plan be tentatively approved as a basis for the development of construction plans for said highway with the understanding that this tentative approval shall not be regarded as a waiver of the right of the Village to take adequate steps to protect itself against claims for change in street grades at the time that final plans for said highway are presented to this council for approval; and that this approval: be given with the understanding that the steps to be taken in the planning and construction of said highway will be in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 1264 of this council., Po11 of votes: Ayes - Anderson„ Serstock, t~Tallick and l~eidsen. Richf field American Little League Baseball, Inc. A letter from the Richfield American Little League,. Inc. was presented dated January 22, 1958. A discussion followed. The council requested that the village manager contact all groups interested in special uses of park properties and arrange an informal public meeting to discuss current and future land-use requirements of each such group. This meeting would Tee intended to present and project the activities of special interest groups so that planning may be done on the acquisition,~development and use of public properties. 22: Letter of Commendation Mayor Keldsen presented a letter of commendation to the council express- ing his gratification for the manner in which a hearing was conducted at the council meeting of January 13,, 195$.
