parallel thereto,. from general commercial to residential; hearing to be Jan-

Motion by Serstock,. seconded by Schultz,. that the council authorize the
clerk to advertise for bids on two iD-key adding machines and one 2-door
patrol coach; bids to be opened February 4, 1958 at 11:00 A.M. Carried.

award.
Motion by Serstock, seconded by Schultz, that the council accept the
low bid of Midway Tractor & Equipment Co. in the amount of $3,.321.82 for a
4-wheel tractor with attachments as recommended by the manager. Carried.
13. Order of Railroad & Warehouse Commission
Motion by Anderson,, seconded by Schultz, that the order from the Rail-
road and 6arehouse Commission dated Jan« 6,, 1958 ordering a hearing on
Thursday „ Jan. 16,. 1958 at 2:00 P.M. to hear evidence supporting the Village's
petition for different routes on certain bus routes through the viliage~be

The manager reported on meeting with cooperating suburbs relating to

A letter from the Minneapolis Gas Co. was read dated January 9, 1958
relative to a proposed increase in gas rates in Richfield.

31, Taxi-Cab License - Richfield Cab Co.
The manager read a report of the taxi-cab inspector dated January 8,
I9S8 relating to an injury suffered by Mrs. Zeila Gooler,, 6613 - 2nd Avea,.
as a passenger in one of the Richfield Cab Company's cabs. Robert Car-
stenbrock, taxi-cab inspector, reported that a settlement had been reached
between the complainant and the Richfield Cab Co.
Blisworth Peterson,. owner of the Richfield Cab Co. ,, appeared before
the council. The council discussed with Mr. Peterson, the unsatisfactory
operating conditions of certain taxicabs and examined the inspector's re-
ports,
Motion by Wallick,, seconded by Serstock,, that the council grant li-
tenses for five cabs which. have been approved by the cab inspector. Carried..

Motion by Serstock, seconded by Schultz, that the council ratify the
action to allow the selling of food and soft drinks in their concession
