01-06-1958VILLAGB OF RICHPIBLD Special Meeting January ~~ 1958 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Village Council of the Village of Richfield met in special session, Monday, January 6~ 1958 in the council chambers of the Village Hail, 6700 Portland Ave., at ?:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Keidsen. Present: Anderson,, Schultz, Serstock,. Wallick and Keidsen. Absent: None. 1. Village Project No. 336 - Concrete Pavement of 66th 5t. (Lgndale to Penn) ._._....,...._ ~....~ ..+.,....r The council discussed Viiiage Project No. 336 regarding costs, benefits, benefited areas and assessable area. The council also discussed the advis- ability and feasibility of constructing concrete pavement on 66th St. from Pirst Avenue to Cedar Avenue during 1958. It was the Consensus of opinion that 25% of the comet, exclusive of the amount financed bq State Aid, be assessed against the abutting property owners. Motion by Wailick, seconded by Schultz, that the manager and engineer modify- the existing report to show 25`~ of $63,.725.24 shall be assessable against the abutting property owners. Carried. 2. Release of Stipulation and Acquisition of Land Motion by Waliick, seconded by Schnitz, that the council authorize pay- went of $1567.86 to James T. Rae and Jane Gaii Rare for release of the Viiiage obligation to fill a certain area between Rae Drive and the pro- posed 65th St. as provided in Stipulation for Settlement and Dismissal of the lawsuit of James Ted Rae and Jane Gail Rae vs. Viiiage of Richfield as approved and adopted by re~iution ~l883 passed by the Viiiage Council September 3,. 1955, Clerk*s Pile X3174, said payment to include acquisition of the following described property: That portion of tract B, Registered ~I -2- January ?, 1958 Land Survey #642, Section 28,, Twp. 28N., Range 24W., Piat No. 46125, Parcel No. 7500, Hennepin County,. State of Minnesota, consisting of 0.06 acres more or less, Carried. 3, Public Works improvement_Program 1958 The council discussed the proposed public improvement program for 1958 1 as prepared by the Department of Public Works. The council considered the amount of banded indebtedness retired di~~i~g l9S? and tb be retied during 198, and the atnourit of indebtedness retired by purchase or call d£ outatand- ing obligations and the necessity of staying within reasonable limits of borrowing. It was the opinion of the council that borrowing for 1958 should not exceed $450,000.00; this was taken as a tentative limit on the. amount of construction.
