Motion by Schultz,. seconded by Benstock,. that the Inspection Division
be authorized to advise p roperty owners that they may apply to the council
to build attached garages on corner lots closer than twenty feet from the
side street as is required by the zoning ordinance. Carried.

It being 7:15 P.M.,. Mayan Kittell called for the hearing an the special

to describe the construction of the building in question.

church property for storage and living quarters and that the chief inspec-
tor be authorized to impose conditions upon the granting of the moving

19. Bids - Rock Salt
The acting manager presented minutes of the bid-opening on rock salt
for the iiillage of Richfield dated Oct.. 28,. 1957.

A discussion followed,
The council was of the opinion that in the case of a tie bid, prefer-
ante should be shown to local representatives.
D. D. McCoy,, 6744 Irving Ave. S., representing Cutler-Magnor Co.,
and Donald White, 662? - 17th Ave« S., representing Morton Salt Co., were
present. Both representatives agreed that the contract should be awarded
to whichever won the toss of the coin.
Mayor Kittell tossed a coin. Cutler-Magnor Ca. was judged to be the
winner.
Motion bq Wallick,, seconded by Serstock,. that the council accept the
bid of Cutler-.Magnor Co« for a total of $2495.00 for 150 tons. Carried.

requesting an extension of time on the off-street parking contract for
Bert Rutman appeared representing the applicant.

21. Request to Construct Sidewalk -Oak Grove Luth« Church
A letter from Oak Grove Lutheran Church,, 71st and Lyndale Ave., dated
Oct. 17, 1957,. was read requesting permission to construct a sidewalk on
Augsburg Ave. between 70th and 71st Streets along the east side of the new
building plus an additional 15 feet.
Motion by SerstockA seconded by Shields, that the letter from Oak Grove
Lutheran Church dated Oct. 17,, 1957 be accepted and filed and that the
council grant permission to construct the sidewalk as requested, in com-
