09-23-1957 VILLAGE OP RICHPIELD BID-OPENING September 23, 1957 Landscaping at New Liquor Store 11:00 A.M. Pursuant to requirements of Resolution No. 1015, a meeting of the ad- ministrative~staff was held in the Village Ha11 at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 23, 1957. . The meeting was called to order by the Village Manager who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to receive, open and re~.d aloud sealed bids on the purchase of landscaping at the new liquor store, as advertised in the off icial newspaper on September 12, 1957. Present: 0. R. Van Rrevelen, manager Paui H. Haugen; village clerk Emmet Galligmi, liquor store manager R. E. Swenson, asst. purchasing agent K. Conway, chief inspector R. Houck, project control engineer The clerk presented a total of six bids on landscaping for the new liquor store. Outstanding bids were called for; none were forthcoming. Acquisi Lion of Park Land September 23, 1957 Motion by Shields, seconded by Serstock, that the manager be authorized to inform the Iverson Investment Co., Inc. of Savage, Minn. that the pro- perty comreyed in the area of 63rd St.. and 18th Ave. would not be used for resale by the Village, but that it is the intention of the Village to use the property permanently for park purposes. Carried. 44. Request for Hocke~r Rink The manager presented a letter from the Recreation Department dated September 18, 195? outlining a request from the Assumption Church to locate a hockey rink on the Ranft property owned by the Village. Motion by Serstock, seconded by Wallick „ that the manager inform the Recreation Department that the council grants the request of -the Assumption Church to locate a hockey rink mn the Ranft property with the understanding that the use of said rink cannot be limited in any way, and that the Village will grade the site, Carried. 41. Traffic Signals - 76th & Lyndale Ave.. The council discussed the feasibility of installing traffic signals and construction curb and gutter in the vicinity of Lyndale Ave. and 76th St.. Motion by Serstock, seconded by Shields, that the manager be instructed to request the State Highway Department to erect tempor ary traffic signals as soon as practicable at 76th and Lyndale Ave. Carried. 42. Building Practices - 75th & Portland Ave. Motion by t~Tallick,, seconded by Serstock, that the manager and engineer inspect the dwelling at the N.E. corner of 75th & Portland Ave.. in regard to the building practices being employed in its construction. Depository September 23, 1957 Motion by Serstock, seconded by Wallick, that the council instruct the clerlt-treasurer to deposit the proceeds of $155,000 of the 1957 Fark Tmprove- ment Bonds in the General account of theRichfield.State Bank. Carried. Motion by Serstock,, seconded by Wallick,, that the Village transfer all funds now on deposit in the Northwestern National Bank of Bloomington-Richfield to the Village general account in the Richfield State Bank as of October 1, 1957.
