Special Meeting
September 12~ 1957
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the council of the Village of
Richfield met in special session in the council chambers of the village hall,
6700 Portland Ave., e.t 4:30 P.M. on Thursday,. September 12, 1957, to consider
the bus routes proposed by the Twin City Rapid Transit Co.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rittell.
Present: Wallick„ Shields, Serstock,, Schulte amd Rittell.
Absent: None.
All members of the council waived notice of the meeting.
B. M. LarrickA Twin City Rapid Transit Co., appeared before the council
to discuss proposed bus routes, schedules, rates and operating policy. Mr.
Carrick presented a map delineating the proposed bus routes.
Motion by Schultz, seconded by Wallick, that the map be accepted and
filerla C-4687 Carried.
Motion by Wallick~ seconded by Shields, that the manager be instructed
to inform the Railroad and Warehouse Commission of the council's temporary
approval of the proposed routes for a period of 120 days, and to further inform
the Railroad and Warehouse Commission that the council has gone on record re-
commending night service after 10:00 P.M., Sunday service and a crosstown
route on ?3rd St. and Diagonal Blvd. from 16th Ave. to Upton Ave., and fur-
thers inform the Commission that the council had requested the Twin City
Rapid Transit Co. to not oppose another operator on the 73rd St. diagonal.
Carried.
Motion by Serstock„ seconded by Shields, that the meeting be adjourned.
