The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ritteil.

Motion by Serstock, seconded by Shields, that the minutes of the regular
meeting of January 14, 1957 be approved.. Carried.

Ave. and ?1st St., hearing to be Monday„ February 11, 1957, at 7;15 P.M.

4. Authorize Cali for Bids - Tandem Road Roller
Motion by Serstock,; seconded by Shields, that the council authorize
the clerk to advertise a call for bids on one 8-10 Ton Tandem Road Roller,

Motion by Wailick~ seconded by Shields, that the council grant the request
of Peter J« McKenna, Jr., 7412 Lyndale Ave., for a commercial building permit
for an addition to his building at 7412 Lyndale Ave. to be used for retail

7. Bingo Request - Alano Society

It being 7:15 P.M., Mayor Kittell called for the hearing on the vacating
of ?7th St. from Rnox Ave. to 512 ft. east and read the notice of hearing.

20, Le islative Conference -League of Aiinnesota Municipalities
Tie village attorney explained the status of the League of Aiinnesota
Municipalities conference and items to be considered at the special legisla-
five conference to be held Pebruary 8! 1957 at the Lawry Hotel in St. Paul.
The council agreed without vote that Councilmen Shields and Serstock
attend the conference as representatives of the Village at the legislative
conference at the Lowry Hotel, February 8, 1957.
21, Improvements - Proposed Ranft's 2nd Addition
A. G. Bogen, 1006 1st National Soo Line Bldg., appeared before the
council to request construction of improvements in the proposed Ranft's
2nd Addition. Mr. Bogen was requested to work with the administrative
staff in these matters.

22. Bids - Police Patrol Coach
It being 8:00 P.M., Mayor Ritteii caned for minutes and tabulation of
bids on the police patrol coach. The minutes were read by the mayor.
Motion by Schultz, seconded by SerstocIc, that the minutes of the bid
opening for the police patrol coach, January 28, 1957, be accepted and ap-
proved. Carried. C-4435
The manager presented the tabulation together with his recommendation
for award.
Aiotion by 5erstock, seconded by Schultz, that the council accept the
bid of Bob Knowles Ford Co. for a total of $1874.00 as recommended by the
manager. Carried.
23. Bids -Steam Cleaner
It being 8:00 P.M., Mayor Rittell called for the minutes of the bid-opening
on the steam cleaner. A~iayor Rittell read the minutes of the bid-opening.
Motion by Shields, seconded by 5erstock, that the minutes of the bid-
opening for the steam cleaner be accepted and approved. Carried. C-4436
Howard Ericson,. representative of the Relite Corporation„ appeared to
explain the variations from the specifications in their submitted bid.
The manager presented a tabulation and called attention to the fact that
the Relite Corporation did not meet specifications and that the next low
bid had been submitted by both Crom-O-Cite Company and the Fleet Supply &
Machine Co« He recommended that the successful bidder be determined by lot.
A4otion by Schultz, seconded by 5erstock, that the council concur in the
recommendation of the manager and that a coin be tossed to determine the
winner; Crom-O-Cite Company to be represented by heads and the Fleet Supply
& Machine Co. to be represented 6y tails. Carried.

seconded by Schultz, that the bid of Fleet Supply & Machine Co. for a high
pressure steam cleaner for a total of $1506.26 be accepted. Carried.
24. Village Representatives to t~Uashin~ton Conference

ized to travel to t~ashington, D. C. to represent the Village of Richf field at
the airport conference which will be held in Room 457, Senate Office Building,
at 10:00 A.M. , Thursday, k~ebruary 7.,, ],957, and that they are to confer with
the federal officials on the present status of sanitary sewer loans. Carried.

that the purpose of the meeting was to receive, open and read aloud,
sealed bids on the purchase of a high pressure steam cleaning machine
for the Village of Richfie ld as advertised in the official newspaper
