The council of the Village of Richfield met in regu~a r session at the
Village Hall,, 6700 Portland Ave., Monday,. Ja~sua~ry 24 ,. 1957 at 7s0~ P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ritteil.
Present: Wailick~ Shields, Serstoch, Schultz and Kitteli.
Absents None.

of a day for boy scouts in the Village Hall.
The council agreed without vote that a boy scout day at the Village Haii
should be held dosing the week of the school Easter vacation.
7. Use of Augsburg Park

1-Zayor Kitten presented a letter dated January 9, 1957 from the V.P.W.
Pred Babcock Post, requesting permission to co-sponsor a carnival in Augsburg
Park in May,. 1957. A discussion was held.
Motion by Shields, seconded by Schnitz, that the council grant the re-
quest of the V.P.W. to co-sponsor a carnival with the Woodrow Wilson Post
on Tuesdayp May 20th through Sunday,. May 26, 19S? in Augsburg Park, restrict-
ing it to the parking area and north to ?0th St., complying with our ordi-
Hance and filing plans of the lay-out. Carried.
8. State*~snt of Council Policy - Use of Park Areas
Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields, that it be the policy of this
council not to allow any park area in the Village to be used for any private
profit-snaking purpose. Carried.

It being ?:15 P.M., Mayor Kitten called for the hearing on the appli-
cation of R. W. Gram for a used car lot at 6527 Penn Ave. S. and read the

33. Survey of Suburban Gas Rates
A discussion was held on the subject of a survey of suburban gas rates.
Motion by Wallick, seconded by Serstock,, that the following resolution
be adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a
part of these minutes:

34. Jaycee~ack Fri t Days
The manager presented a letter from the Richfield Jaycees requesting
permission to set up stands at various sites in the village on January 19,
1957 and January 20, 1957 to sell hot chocolate, doughnuts and candy to com-
pensate for expenses involved in "Jaclc Frost Days", a celebration sponsored
by the Richfield Jaycees.
Motion by Wallick„ seconded by Shields, that permission be granted the
Richfield Jaycees to sell refreshments on January 19 and 20, 1957 in connec-
tion with "Jack Prost Days", that all fees be waived, and that the letter
be filed. Carried. C-4423
