The village council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session
at the Village Hali~ 6?00 Portland Ave., Wednesday, December 26, 1956, at
7:00 P.M,
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ritteil,
Present: Wailickp Shields, Serstock,. Schultz and Kittell.
Absent - None•

the invocation.

Motion by Wailick, seconded by Serstock, that the minutes of the

The manager presented a petition from eight property owr-ers on Harriet
Ave. between ?1st St. and 72nd St. requesting that parking sestrictions be
changed from no parking between the hours of 8 A.M. and 4 P.M. an weekdays
to residence parking.

It being 7:15 P.M., Mayor Kitteli called for the hearing on the coning
variation of Clarence Christians 1100 E. 66th St. for a zoning variation
on 1531 Diagonal Blvd., and read the notice of hearing.

S. Meshbesher, 1234 1st Natti Soo Line Bidg., appeared representing
Harry Wong, applicant for a commercial building permit for a restaurant to
be located at 6513-15 Lyndale Ave. S. A discussion followed.
Motion by Serstock,, seconded by Shields, that the council grant the
commercial building permit of Harry Wongs 6515 Lyndale Ave.,, to remodel

It being 7:30 F.M., Mayor i{i.ttell called for the hearing an the appli-

12. Proposed 62nd St. Cross-Town Highway as State Aid Road
The manager presented a letter from the Gounty Highway Department dated
December l8, 1956.
L. P. Pederson, Hennepin County engineer, appeared and explained
reasons for requesting state aid in making further study of route of the
proposed 62nd St. Cross-Town Highway. A discussion followed.
Motion by Shields, seconded by Serstock, that the question of the pro-
posed cross-town highway be deferred until ?:00 P.M., January 2,. 195? and
that the manager, engineer and assessor compile information pertinent to-
this question. Carried.
13. Approve Layout & Contract for Off-Street Parking
Motion by Serstock, seconded by Schultz, that the following resolu-

A discussion took p1a ce on the question of methods of operation of
taxicab companies licensed in the Village of Richfield.
Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields, that the manager instruct the
taxicab inspector to examine trip sheets of all licensed cab companies and
report to the manager. Carried.
19. County Park District
The manager presented a copy of a resolution adopted by the Hennepin
County League of Towns and Municipalities recommending the activation of the
County Park District providing that Chapter 806, Laws of Minnesota 1955 be
amended in accordance with the committee's recommendation, Sec. 9a, Chap.
806, Laws of Minn. 1955. .
