The manager presented a remonstrance petition on the proposed alley
grading in the block bounded by 68th & b9th Streets and Nicollet and Second
Avenues, containing 20 signatures.
Mayor Rittell read a report from the engineering division dated
May 25„ 1956•

26. Revised 195b Poundheeper Agreement
Charles B. Adams, poundkeeper, appeared to discuss with the council
the proposed revised 1956 Poundkeepsr Agreement. A discussion followed..
The council instructed Mr. Adams to operate under the old contract until
a new contract can be negotiated by the manager and Mr. Adams.
27. Petition Protesting Use of ?8th 5t. as Service Road During Construction
Mayor Kittell read a letter and petition protesting the use of
78th St. from Thomas Ave« to Xerxes Ave. as a highway during construction
of Trunk Highway x`100.
H. A.{~ipzynski, 2908 W. 78th 5t., appeared as spokesman for a
group of property owners present opposing the proposed use of the service
road.
Without vote the council agreed that the manager be instructed and
authorized to convey to the Minnesota Highway Department the sincere desire
of the council that the north service. road of Trunk Highway #100 from
Thomas to Xerxes Ave« be used as little as possible during the forthcoming
osunstruct3on of Trunk Highway #`100.

Mayor Rittell read a letter requesting the use of the basketball
courts at Augsburg Park for dances at the park this summer.
Motion by Serstock¢ seconded by Shields, that the council grant per-
mission to the St. Richard's Band Guild to hold teen-age dances in Augsburg
Park this summer, to authorize the license and waive the usual fees. Carried.
