The meeting was tailed to order by the Village manager who announced that the purpose of the meeting wars to receive, open and read aloud, sealed bids. on gravel crushing for the Village of Richfield, as advertised in the official newspaper on April 12, 1956. Donald Lawrence, commander,V.F.W., and Kenneth Richardson appeared and suggested that restrictions be imposed on the playing of bingo. Motion by Wallick,. seconded by Shields, that the manager and attorney be authorized to prepare an ordinance relative to bingo and present the ordi- Hance to the council at their earliest convenience. Carried. Motion by Shields, seconded by Wallick, that the council reconsider 1 their action of April 9, 1956, relative to a letter from the American War Dads requesti»g permission to play bingo in Richfield, and deny the organiza- tion permission on the basis of information in the possession of the manager. Use of School District Land as Playground A letter was read from the Richf ieid Public Schools authorizing the council to prepare and use the elementary school site at 74th and Bloomington Ave. for playground and park purposes while the site is not in use by the school district.
