Me The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kittell, Present: Walters., Rose, Shields, Wallick and Kittell. Absent:. Alone, Rev, Wayne Tamer., Richfield Evangelical Free Church, gave the invoca- tion. 1. H ighway Improvements E. J. McCubrey, Minnesota Highway Department, appeared before the couhgil-,to discuss the proposed highway improvement of Highway 100, being the souther boundary of the Village. A discussion followed. 2. Nichols, 3200 - 30th Ave., S., Iv.nneapolis, FLnn., to divide the north 120 ft, of the south 450 ft. of the west 1/2 of Lot 5, Richfield Gardens Addition be granted, subject to the applicantfs agreement to sod the boulevards and to construct crushed rock driveways. Division of Iand - Boeser Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose, that the request of Agatha Boeser, 7600 Upton Ave. S., to divide the south 150 ft. of Lot 4, Marshall and Heard's Woodlake Garden Lots be granted, subject to the applicant's agreement to sod the boulevards and to construct crushed rock driveways. Motion by Rose,, seconded by Wallick, that the council grant tentative approval to the application of Northern States Power Co. for a special use -6- February 28, 1955 perrnri.t to construct a transformer station on Lots. 13 & i4s. Wallace's Sunny - side Acres 3rd Addition, being the southeast corner of the intersection of Chicago & 70th St., subject to council's apprm al~ of-a developer's contract to be drawn by the manager, attorney and engineer. Carried. C- 1956.. 13. Commercial Building Permit - Erickson The manager announced that Erickson Bros. had withdrawn their application for a special use permit to construct a gasoline filling station on Lot 1, Block 2, J. N. Hauser's Addition, being known as 6600 Grand Ave. Roy Nicholson, 6607 Grand Ave.., appeared before the council requesting a rezoning of his property at 6607 Grand Ave. Mr. Nicholson was told to send his request through the regular channels for action. Ed Conniff, 6608 Grand Ave., presented a petition containing 29 signa- tures requesting that the residential zoning of the corners of 66th & Grand Ave. be restored. Iriotion by Shields, seconded by Wallick, that the petition be filed. Carried. C -1957. A. C. Sheedy appeared before the council and presented a petition signed by 6 filling station operators protesting the Erickson Bros. request for a permit to construct a falling station. Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose, that the petition containing 6 signatures of filling station operators in protest to the Erickson Bros. request for a special use permit be filed. Motion by Rose, seconded by Walters, that the spe cial use permit of R. Howe to move a house into an industrial area; namely, The East 90, of Parcels #3810, 5600, Plat -4 4836, Sec, 36r Tup . 28, R6 24. M., Mayor Kittell called for the hearing on the request to rezone from commercial to residential, property lying between Queen Ave. and Oliver Ave.; 76th St. and 77th St., being known as the E. 1/4 of the N. 1/2 of the SE-14 of the SE2L 4 of Sec. 32, Twp, 28, Range 24, and Jacobsen & Quist 3rd Addition',,' Motion by Walters, seconded by Rose, that the hearing be closed.
