M,, the Mayor caned for the hearing on V. P. No. 316 and read the notice of hearing. Notion by Walters, seconded by Shields, that the manager instruct the engineer to construct a roll curb on Village Project No. 316. Carried. 9. Hearing - Village Project No., 250 - 66th St., 1st Ave, to Lyndale It being 7:15 P. M., Mayor Ki ttell called for the public hearing on Village Project No. 250 and read the notice of hearing. The engineer described the location and scope of this work. Fred Kummer, 6605 1st Ave.. S., appeared in oppositioh and presented two remonstrance petitions containing 16 signatures. Notion by Shields, seconded by Wallick, that the council, accept and file the petitions. Carried. Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields, that the engineering division study and report on presently owned right -of -way. Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose, that the engineer be instructed to prepare plans for widening 70th St. to 33 ft., said width to be 22 ft. south of the center line and 11 ft. north of the center lane to preserve the trees on the north side; that drainage be taken care of; that the south boulevard be graded and bituminous sidewalk be constructed thereon,- that standard rolled curb be provided and that the project otherwise be held at a minium of expense. It was agreed that along Frank Keefe's property, 6903L male Ave., the width be 44 ft. to provide a wider and safer entrance to Lyndale Ave. 12, Bus Routes✓ The manager presented a report on the bus route dated February 189, 1955. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Walters., that the council accept and file the report and grant a thirty -day trial period as recommended in the report. Carried, C -1943. W, Marshall, attorney representing Larryt s Tavern,, 7626 Lyndale Ave., appeared before the council. A discussion followed, Norman Serstock, 7614 Harriet Ave., appeared opposing a beer license at this location, as did Roland Moline, 7608 Harriet Ave. and V. J. Lyons, 7621 H arriet Avenue. Another discussion ensued. Notion by Rose, seconded by Wa7l.ick9 that the council deny the applica- tion of Charles W. Sheehan for a beer license at 7626 Lynd4e Ave, S. as recommended by the manager. Carried. 15. Sanitary Sewer Improvement No., 1 Harry Mayeron, G. N, Orr Engineering Co., appeared before the council relative to contracts in connection with Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1.
