12-27-1954-24, December 27, 1954 4. Rezoning - Nicolle t Ave.- -66th to 67th Mayor Kittell reviewed the contract with the Red Cwl Food Store and condi- tions in the area. A discussion followed but no action was taken. 3. Cont. Rezoning-- Lyndale Ave.- -66th & 67th Vernone Elmgiist, 7517 Dupont Ave. S., owner of the third lot north of 67th St. on the east side of Lyndale Ave., appeared requesting commercial zon- ing on the east side of Lyndale Ave. from the present limit to 67th St. The committee appointed by the Mayor to discuss this matter returned to the meeting. Councilman Wallick reported on the results of their dis- cussion. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields, that the northerly one -half, namely, Lot 25, Block 4, Lyndale Shores Addition, be zoned C -1 or limited commercial; and the southerly one -half, namely Lot 24, Block 4, Lyndale Shores Addition, to- remain residential, and negotiate a contract to provide screening. - -Poll of votes: Ayes - Walters, Rose, Wallick Shields and Kittell. Nays - none. Absent - none. Carried. 5. Statement of Council Policy Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields, that it be the policy of this council that no zoning changes shall be initiated by the council, and that any future changes shall be initiated by a petition of not less than 5010 of the owners of real property within 300 ft. of the perimeter of the land proposed to be rezoned, Carried. 6. Hearing - Plat of Christian's 2nd F dd. It being 8:00 P. M., the Mayor called for the hearing on Christiana s 2nd Addition and read the notice of hearing. No persons appeared. -3- December 27, 1954 Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose, that the hearing be closed. Carried. Motion by Shields, seconded by Walters, that the council grant tentative approval to the plat of Christian's 2nd Addition and authorize the engineer and attorney to draw a subdivider's contract and submit it to the council for ap- proval., Carried. 7. Heari ng - Plat of Petit I s F ourth Addi ti on It being 8:00 P. M., the Mayor called for the hearing on Petit's 4th Addition and read the notice of hearing. No persons appeared in,opposition. *Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose, that the hearing be closed. Carried.
