Pursuant to council action of November 22, 1954, an adjourned meeting
of the Village council. of the Village of Richfield, Ninnesota~ was duly held
at the Village Hall in said Village on Mondays November 29i 1954, at ?=~ P. M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kitten.

Lion of traffic in the area north of 66th St. near Grass Lake was held
Motion by Walters, seconded by Wailick, that the attorney be instructed
to prepare an amendment to Ordinance No.. 2.03 to provide C-2 zoning for this
area except C-1 class for the southwester]~y corner of this area. Carried..
2m Vending I~ta.chine Ordinance
The counci]~ held a discussion relative to a rec~u.est by Louis Roberge for
a license to operate an automatic food store ~an the west side of Lyndale be-
tween 65th and 66th..
Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields' that the attorney be instructed
to present a vending machine ordinance at the regular council meeting on Decem-
ber 13, 1954. Carriedo
3. Hearing -Rezoning Southeast Corner of bake Shore Drive & 66th St.
Tt being 8:00 P. M,, Mayor Kitten called for the hearing on the rezoning
of the Southeast corner of the intersection of Lake Shore Drive & 66th St.. and
read the notice of hearing. No persons appeared in opposition.
Motion by Walters, seconded by Wallick, that the hearing be closed. Carried.

to Robert Broad dated Nov, 11t 1954, relative to the rezoning of Lots 24 & 25~

hues South..
Motion by Wallai.ck, seconded by Shields, that the letter be filed. Carried.,

advertise a hearing on the rezoning of the property known as 6701 T.~mdale Ave.

5.. Building Code Ordinance
The Village attorney read a report dated Nov. 2b, 1954, relative to the
possibility of the adoption of the Minneapolis Building Code by reference.
Motion by Wallick, seconded by Shields, that the attorney be instructed
to prepare an ordinance adopting by reference, the Minneapolis electrical and
heating and ventilating codes. Carriedo

Motion by Wallicki seconded by Walters that the council give tentative
approval to the preliminary plat of Smie jai s Addition and authorize the clerk
to advertise a public hearing for 8;00 P. M,, Monday, December 13,. 1954. Carried.

Motion by Walters, seconded by Wallick, that the request of A. M. C~erde,
6306 LyndalE Ave.. S. for a commercial building permit for a one story steel
building to be constructed on Lot 3s Block 1, Rays Lynnhurst 2nd Add. for the
Richfield Parts Service Co.,, be granted. Carried. C-1872.
12. Commercia]` Building Permit -Star Tribune
Motion by Walters, secornled bar Wallick, that the request of the Star-
Tribune Co, for a commercial building permit to erect a building for a newspaper
branch station on Lot 7, Block !~, Christiants Addition being known as the north-
west corner of the intersection of 13th Ave. and E. 66th St., be granted.

13. Richfield Plaza Addition -Completion of Work
The manager read a memorandum from the engineer dated November 29a 1954,
relative to the completion of work at the Hub Shopping Center. Adisrussion
took place. The concensus of tbpinion was that this matter be deferred for one
week.

& petition was presented containing six signatures of progeny owners
requesting that the alley ~e graded in the block bounded by Vincent and Washburn
and 64th and 65th Sts.
Mrs. Wm, Praus, 6408 Vincent ~-ve., appeared and explained the need for
this alley..
Mr.. Mack, 6439 Mashburn eve., appeared and spoke an favor of the alley.
This matter was referred to the engineer for study and recommendation.
