M., Mayor Kittell called for the hearing on Village Project No. 306s being street grading on Upton Avei between 64th and 65th Sts., and read the notice of hearing., No persons appeared in opposition. Motion by Walli.ckp seconded by Shields, that the hearing be closed. Carried. Opening at 68th St. Bert Houldings 6801 Humboldt Avei l appeared before the Council and presented a petition opposing the opening of 68th St. on Trunk Highway #65+ Motion by Wallick,, seconded by Shields., that the petition signed by 36 -4- November 14 1954 property owners protesting the opening of 68th St. on the Trunk Highway #65 be accepted by the Council and ordered filed. Carried; C- 1843. G. R. McCloskey, 6745 H umboldt Ave: S.s spoke in favor of the petition.. E. F; Dick, 1401 W. 68th St., also was against the opening of 68th St. at the highway. Clinton Hess, 2020 W; 68th St., spoke also a 0inst the Opening of 68th St: at this point. 9. Christmas Eve and.New Year's Eve Closing Motion by Rose, seconded by Shields, that the council authorize the closing of the Village Hall on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve for this year, being December 24th and December 31st respectively, due to the fact that the regularly scheduled holidays on Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on Saturday. Carried. 10.
