06-01-1954iF 1\ VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD ADJOURNED MEETING June 1, 1954 Pursuant to council action of May 27, 1954, an adjourned meeting of the Village Bouncil of the Village of Richfield, FLmesota, was duly held at the Village Hall in said Village on Tuesday, June 1, 1954, at 7:00 o'clock P The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kittell. Mayor Kittell read the notice of hearing of this meetinge Present: Rose, Wallick and Kittell. Absent: Walters and Shields. Village Project Noe 230-- Awardip of Contract; Harry Mayeron read a letter from the Ge M. Orr Engineering Co. presenting a tabulation of bids on Project No. 230, and recommended that the contract be awarded to Orfei and Mariani & Sons Inc. being low bidders with a bid of $624,523.60. Notion by Rose, seconded by Wallick,, that the following resolution be adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a part of these minutes: RESOLUTION NO. 378 RESOLUUON ACCEF fM SID AND AWARDING CONTRACT TO ORFEI AND NALRIANI & SOM INC* V.P., #230. C -1481 Poll of votes: Ayes - Rose, Wallick and rdttell. Nays - none. Absent - Walters and Shields, Carried. This resolution appears as resolution #378 in resolution book #2., Councilman Shields was seated. It being 7:00 P. M., Mayor Kittell read the notice of public hearing on zoning¢. 3 -2- June 1, 1954 M.N.&S. Tracks to Nioollet- -,62nd to 65th 3ames Ward, 6228 Pillsbury Ave., presented a petition of 135 names re- questing retention of residential classification in this area. It was Mr. Ward's opinion that a multiple duelling classification would be preferable to Industrial zoning. George Zipoy, 6234 Pillsbury Ave. expressed his opposition to industrial zoning in this area. Motion by Wallick, seconded by Rose, that the Council accept and file the petition. Carried. C -1482. V. G. Berke, 6305 Pillsbury Ave., spoke in opposition to industrial zoning. Counci]man.Walters was seated. F. R. Gonnella, 6204 Pillsbury Ave., spoke against industrial and multi- ple dwelling zoning. Leonard Lindberg, 6200 Nicollet Ave., expressed his opposition to indus- trial zoning. 78 th St. & Wentworth Ave. C. E. SuDivan, 116 W. 78th St., said he had no objection to the zoning in this area„ West side of Nicollet Ave. - 66th --67th Streets Herbert W. Olson, 6638 lst Ave. South, was opposed to comnerdal zoning and would prefer entire block be zoned comaercial but only single use for area. Robert Weber, 6632 lst Ave., expressed the same opinion as H. Olson. Bruce McDonald, 6624 lst Ave., was also of the same 6pinion. D. M. Ktassey, 6635 Nicollet Ave., spoke in favor of conmrdal zoning.
