The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session in the
council. chambers _of the Village Halls 6700 Portland Ave. South, at 7:00 PAM.
on Mondays May �4s 1954.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
Present: Walters, Roses Wallick and Kittell.
Absent: Shields.
XWor Kittel gave the invocation.
1, Crosstown Highway.
Motion by Walters, seconded by Wallick, that the council suspend the rules
to allow a group of Richfield business men to appear before the council.
P. B. Mabry aope ar ed as s poke sman for the group and presented a petition
opposing a crosstown highway on 62nd Street. The council and the group of
business men discussed the crosstown highway at some length.
Motion by Walla.ck, seconded by Rose, that the council accept and file the
petition of 55 Richfield lousiness men and property owners opposing a cross-
town highway on 62nd Street, Carried. C -3445.
Motion by Walters., seconded by Rose, that the following resolution be
adopted:

City of Minneapolis for construction of the 54 -inch sewer connection project
and recommended that the T,11i.nneapOlis costs be audited by the Public Examiner.

the report of the City of Minneapolis relative to the cons truc tion of the
54 -inch Richfield sewer connection project., and that they concur in the
recommendation of the Village manager that an audit be made by the Public

the report of G. M. Orr Engineering Company relating to the extension of sani-
tary sewer lateral on 69th St, from lst Ave. South, 3163 feet to service Lots
17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, of the Western Surety & Adjustment Co. "The Pines
Addition ", and authorize execution of a Change Order to execute such an ex-
