Accept Bids -Voting Machines, The Engineer presented the tabulation of bids on voting machines. Mr. R. F. Shoup appeared before the council and demonstrated his machine. Mayor Reller recommended that the counaLl consider purchasing voting machines at this time; inasmuch as the 1954 budget anticipates the use of voting machines. The cost of the voting machines having been saved during 1953, he recommended outright purchase. Councilman Rose stated that he does not oppose the use of voting machines and believes the Shoup machine to be superior, but that in his opinion, the purchase should be left to the new council. Councilman Iverson stated that he was 3n agreement with N[ayor Re11er.
