VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD REGULAR MEETING December 14, 1953 The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session in the council chambers of the Village Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue Soufhh at 7 :00 P. M. on Monday, December 14, 1953. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Reller. Present: Walters, Rose, Shields, Iverson and Reller. Absent: None, 1. Mnutes. Motion by Rose, seconded by Shields, that the council approve and accept the minutes of the adjourned meeting of November 12, 1953. Carried. Motion by Rose, seconded by Shields, that the council approve and accept the minutes of the regular meeting of November 23, 1953. Carried. Motion by Iverson, seconded by Shields that Ordinances on Sanitary Sever; Amendment to Public Works Ordinance and Sanitary Sever Rate Ordinance be placed on the agenda for the meeting of January 11, 1951. Carried. 12. Completion of Village Project No. 214. Motion by Rose, seconded by Iverson that the letter of G. M. Orr Engi- neering Company, notifying the village that sanitary, sever laterals in business district, Village Project No. 214, have been completed, be accepted and assigned Clerk's File No. C- 1240. Carried. 13. Hearing - Jacobson & Quist 2nd Addition. Mayor Reller read the notice of hearing. No persons appeared for or against this plat. Motion by Iverson, seconded by Walters, that the hearing be closed. Carried. 14. Construction on Thomas Avenue - 67th to 68th Street. Earl - Sharpe and his attorney appeared before the council to discuss construction on Thomas Avenue from 67th to 68th Street. Provisions of a subdividers contract were discussed and agreed upon by Mr. Sharpe and the council. - 4'- 6 12/14/53, 15. Hearing - Plat of Kesterton Addi. tion. Mayor Reller read notice of hearing. No persons appeared for or against this plat. Motion by Shields, secaaded by Rose, that the hearing be closed. Carried. 16. Re- routing of Buses. Loring Ziebarth of Minneapolis and Suburban Bus Company appeared before the council to request approval of re- routing of buses and presented maps Z showing present and proposed routes with alternates. Discussion followed. Motion by Shields, seconded by Iverson that the council approve the re- routing of buses as requested by Mr. Ziebarth and shown on maps submitted by him. Carried. C -1241. Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields, -Ghat the Manager request the Higineer to instruct the snow plovers at. Nicollet Avenue and 66th S tree t to pile plowed snow in such a manner as not to interfere with transfer of bus passengers. Carried. 17. Bids - Calcium Chloride and Rock Salt, Being 8 :15 P. M., Mayor Reller read the advertisement for bids for calcium chloride and rock salt. Extension of Time - Park Construction Company Contract. Motion by Walters, seconded by Iverson that the council grant the request of Park Construction Company for an extension of time on the seeding and sodding portions of Village Project 155, 160, 161, 177, 186, 193, 195 and 210, as requested by them and recommended by the Village Engineer. Carried, C -1242, 19. Bids - Rotary Type Files. Motion by Iverson, seconded by Walters that bids on rotary type files be M 1%14/53. placed on the agenda for the meeting of January 11, 1954. Carried. 20. Deed for Streets - Kestertan. Motion by Iverson, seconded by Walters that the council refer to the Engineering Committee, deeds for the East one -half () of Logan Avenue South from centerline of 72nd Street; and West 72nd Street from Logan Avenue to 103 feet East, offered by Jack Kes terton and Audrey I, Kes tertan . Carried. 21. Deeds for Streets - Jungell and Nichols - Thomas et al. Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose that the council accept and file deed for the North 140 feet of 65th Street from Upton Avenue to Thomas Avenue offered by Jungen and Nichols, C-1243; and the deed for the North 175 feet of 65th Street from Thomas Avenue to 134 feet West, offered by David R.
