REGULAR MEETING
.November 23, 1953
The council of the Village of Richfield met in regular session in the
council chambers of the Village Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South at 7:00
P. M. on Monday, November 23, 1953. The meeta.ng was .called 1~ order by P~layar
Keller. •
Present: Rose, Shie lds, Iverson and Keller.
Absent: Walters.

Notion by Shields, seconded by Rose that the council ccn cur in the re-
coirBnendation of the Zoning Commission and deny the request of Gorra Bros. ~
5730 Pleasant Avenue South to construct tkro twin bungalows at 6900 and 6908
Portland Avenue South., Carried. _
Councilman Walters took. his chair.
4. Construction of Double Bungalows -Zubert.
Peter M. Zubert appeared before the council and asked that area requsre-
ments for double bungalows be reduced. Discussion followed.
Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose that the council refer to the
Engineering Committee the problem of decreasing the area requirements for
double bungalows. Carried.
5. Bids on Calcium Chloride and Rock Salt Authorized.
Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields that the Clerk be authorized ~
advertise for bids on 22.5 -tons of Calcium Chloride and 60 -t9ns (more or Tess)
of Rock Salt; bids to be received until 8:00 P. Ai. December 14, 1953. Carried.
6. Designation of 62nd Street as a: Highway Opposed.
Motion by Iverson, seconded by Shie7,ds that the following resolution
be adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a par t
of these minutes.

8. Hearing to Vacate East 63rd Street.
Mayor Reller read the notice of public hearing to vacate Fast 63rd Street
i~rom a poin t 35 feet West of the West line of 17th Avenue South to the West
line of Cedar Avenue South. No persons appeared.
Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields tha t the hearing be closed.
Carried.
Mo-Gion by Shields, seconded by Iverson That the council accept a deed
to Lot 6, except the North 24 feet and the South 17 feet thereof, and Lot
7 except the North 24 feet thereof of Block 3, Iverson ~s Third Addition;
and a deed to Lot 1, except t~ Northerly 24 feet thereof and Lot 16, except
the Northerly 24 feet thereof of Block 6, Iverson Second Addition and Lots
1 and 16, Block l of Iverson~s 'Second Addition axed authorl.ze payment of

Mayor Rell.er read the notice of hearing to vacate that part of the alley

extended. Nor persons ap~ared.
Motion by Iverson, seconded by Shields that the hearing be closed.

12. Vacancy on Zoning Commission.

Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields that the I+~anager discuss with the
Police Department the .advisability of placing stop signs at the intersection
of 12th Avenue South and 76th Street. Carried.

Motion by Iverson, seconded by Shields that the following resolution
