SPECIAL MEETING
November 2, 1953
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the council of the Village of
Richfield met in special session in the Village Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue
South, at 6 P. M. on Monday, November 2, 1953,
Present: Walters, Rose, Shields and Reller.
Absent: Iverson .
1. Primary Election,
The Council discussed the necessity of holding a primary election.
In
Motion by Shields, seconded by Rose that the following resolution be
adopted; that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a part
of these minutes. Carried.

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PRIMARY
ELECTION AND SETTING THE DATE THEREFOR.
Poll of votes: Ayes - Walters, Rose, Shields, and Reller. Nays - none.
Absent: Iverson. This resolution appears as resolution No. 226 in resolution
book No. 1.
2. Advisory Ballot Ordered.
Notion by Shields, seconded by Rose that an advisory election on whether
-or not the village should establish a primary system, be held in conjunction
with the village general election on December 8, 1953, Carried,
3. Appointing Judges and Clerks of Elections.
Motion by Rose, seconded by Shields that the following resolution be adopted;
that it be spread in the resolution book and that it be made a part of these
minutes. Carried.

CLERKS OF ELECTIONS,
Poll of votes: Ayes - Walters, Rose, Shields and Reller. Nays - none.

4. Hours of Filing and Registering.
Notion by Shields, seconded by Rose that the Clerk's office accept filings
of candidates and registrations of voters until 9 P. M. on Saturday, November 7,
1953. Carried.
5. Agreement with Richfield Plaza, Inc.
"'Motion by .Shields, seconded by Rose for unanimous consent of the council
to consider an :agreement with Richfield Plaza, Inc. Carried.
