Mr. Mattis n described drainage condit3.ons in this area. Discussion ensued. Motion by 1r7a7.ters, seconded by Shields, that the coundl declare All State Pipe Cleaning Ca~.pany ixi default on their contract for cleaning storm s.ewers~ and instructed the Manager to notify immediately the bonding company. Carried. • Motion by Walters, seconded by Iversen, that in. the event that A11 State Pipe Cleaning Company's bonding company does not furnish- men and machinery to clean Storm sewers in the vicini~Ly of Washburn. and 76th, by the week of August, 3, 1953, that the Village Manager be authorized to utilize experienced street personrie]. to do this work, and f•~ther that the manager be authorized to hire emergency help to replace experienced street personnel. A delegation of proper~r owners from the vicinity- of l~Tincent Avenue South and 75th and 76th Street, app eared before the council. W. B. Hertig, Jr., acted as spokesman. Discussion ensued. Motion by Walters, seconded by Shields, that the council authorize installata.on of a catch basin and drain at Washburn and 76th St., if the cost be less than .;500.00. Carried. 27. Vandalism - Fairuaood Park. Sylvester Enright and Matt Mulroy appeared before the council, representing the West Richfield Businessment s Association. They described acts of vandalism in Fairwood Park, and asked that preventative measures be takes.. ~, Motion by Shelds9 seconded by Iverson, '-chat the Manager be instructed to confer with the Police Departanent in regard to the problem of vandalism in Fairwood Park and report back to th.e council.
