RESOLUTION NO. 12328

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING TWO MINNESOTA SOLAR ON PUBLIC BUILDINGS
PROGRAM GRANTS, FOR $67,064 AND $68,785, FOR THE PURCHASE OF
SOLAR ENERGY EQUIPMENT FOR THE RICHFIELD ICE ARENA AND THE
RICHFIELD PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING.
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has secured two Minnesota Solar on Public
Buildings Program Grants from the State of Minnesota: one for the installation of solar
equipment on the Richfield Ice Arena for $67,064, and the other for the installation of
solar equipment on the Richfield Public Works building for $68,785; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires the acceptance of grants by
resolution of the City Council, adopted by two-thirds majority of its members, expressing
such terms in full; and
WHEREAS, the grant will enable staff to purchase and install the equipment to
harness solar energy with panels on two City buildings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield, Minnesota, that Richfield Recreation Services staff is authorized to accept the
two Minnesota Solar on Public Buildings Program Grants from the State of Minnesota
and to administer the corresponding grant agreements and proceed with the projects.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 24th day of
June, 2025.
