RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF HENNEPIN
COUNTY DECENTRALIZATION PROPOSAL
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has prepared a plan to decentralize the delivery
of social services programs throughout the county, and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has requested the South Hennepin Human
Services Council and the Cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, and
Richfield to study the desirability of providing county social services to
South Hennepin residents from a south suburban location, and
WHEREAS, representatives of these municipalities have jointly prepared a
report endorsing the Hennepin County decentralization and recommending a
South Hennepin service center, and •
WHEREAS, the recommendations of said report were unanimously approved
by the South Hennepin Human Services Council on April 21, 1976,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of .the City of
Richfield does accept and support the response of the South Hennepin Human
Services Council to Hennepin County's Comprehensive Decentralization
Proposal, and
BE IT FURTHER STATED that this resolution be forwarded to the Hennepin
County Board of Commissioners as indication of Richfield's support for the social
services decentralization proposal.
