• RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTIONS-NOS. 4116,.5326 AND `• -
- 4502 ESTABLISHING THE ADVISORY YOUTH COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED -by the City Council of the City of Richfield as follows:
1. There is hereby established an Advisory Commission to be known as the Richfield
Youth Commission.
2. Such Commission shall have ttivelve members,•of which six shall be beyond high
~. school age and six shall be of junior and high school age. •
3. The members of such Commission sha71 be appointed by the City Council. The•
- terms of the members of junior high and high school age shall be one year and
run from June 1 to June 1 of the following calendar year. The terms of the
members beyond. high school age shall be three years except as hereinafter
provided. Of the members beyond high school age, two shall be appointed for
a term of one .year; two shall be appointed fora term•of two years; and three
shall be appointed far a term of three years. A11 such one, two and three year
terms will-begin on June-l and end. on June 1st, one, two or three-years later
as the case may be. A11 members shall 6e 'subject to removal by the City Council
at .any time.
- 4. The general purpose of such a Commission shall be to serve the youth of the
• community by advisiing the City Council on ways .and .means of hest accomplishing
this task. Specifically the Commission will:
• a. Enlist the cooperation of the adult community in implementing programs
~~ and establishing facilities. for youth.
,~,~b. Encourage the active and meaningful participation of youth in community
affairs.
• .~-.*. c: Act as~an advising resource for the various youth serving agencies
. within the community whose programs affect Richfield's youth.-
d. Establish communication `lines and understanding between the youth.
e. Establish communication lines and understanding between-the youth and
' adult community.
5. The City Manager shall provide staff assistance for-such Commission:
.6. Such Commission shall hold meetings at least monthly and-shall submit
