RESOLUTION NO. 5351
-RESOLUTION OPPOSING COMMUNITY HEALTH- SERVICES ACT
(HOUSE FILE 645)
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield presently provides full time environmental
health and public health nursing services to its citizens, and
WHEREAS, HF 645 and a companion bill in the senate as originally intro-
duced contains provisions which -would take away from the City of Richfield
its ability to provide the environmental and nursing health services which
the city is presently providing to its citizens, and
WHEREAS, HF 645 is designed to organize all health services in the
state -with county authority, and

WHEREAS, it is. the opinion of the city council that these. services can
best be provided by the city, -
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield, Minnesota that the .city council opposes the Community Health .
Services Act unless it is amended to make it possible for the City of Richfield
to administer and continue to provide. existing community health services at
the -local level without present or future possibiaity of county takeover or-
control.
