RESOLUTION N0. 5335
RESOLUTION REQUESTING METROPOLITAN TRANSIT
COMMISSION TO ALTER LAYOVER PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richfield is concerned about
vehicular and pedestrian safety, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richfield is aware that
Metropolitan Transit Commission buses are in the practice of standing at
intersections for extended periods of time to adjust to their schedules,
and
WHEREAS, this extended standing is blocking one lane of traffic,
causing congestion and potential safety hazards to motorist and pedestrians
alike.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City' of
Richfield hereby requests the Metropolitan Transit Commission to eliminate
this practice or where this is infeasible to insure that adequate warning
is given to motorists and pedestrians by use of safety flashers, etc.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield this 24th day of
March, 1975.
