RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE 3974 SALAR`y COMPENSATION PLAN WHEREAS, Section 2,33 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Rich~ield provides that the city council shah adopt by resolution pay plans for city employees whbich pay plans shall include the assignment of classes to pay grades with minimum and maximuz_r~ bi-weekly rates together with intermediate pay steps, if any, and state tie method of progression through the pay grade, and WHEREAS, Section 2.33 of the Ordinance Code of the City of Ricr=field provides that t~~e City Manager shall be responsible for administering the pay plan, and WHEREAS, the City Manager has prepared a 1974 pay plan for certain manage- ment positions in the city service, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council do and hereby does establish for the year 1974 the following pay plan to be effective on the first day of the pay period closest to January 1, 1974 and subject to the provisions contained herein, -' .GRADE I7 $470-637 GRADE 18 $495-701 Street Superintendent Water Superintendent Ice Arena Manager Assistant Park & Recreation Director Engineering Associate Administrative Assistant GRADE 19 $547-773 Liquor Store Manager City Assessor GRADE 2I $665-939 Public SafAty Director Public Works Directcr Environmental Health Director Chief Building Inspector Wood Lake Manager Personnel Director GRADE 2 0 $602-851 Finance. Director Parks and Rec>eation Director Planning Director Salaries set by the City Manager within these ranges shall be based upon the following factors: 1. The level of compensation necessary to attract and retain competent and professionally trained personnel. 2. Perfor~r~ance 4 ~ ~R ~f. 3, Relationship of salary with that of those supervised. 4. Recognition of difference in professional training and experience. 5. Degree of responsibility, number of employees supervised and scope of departmental programs . 6 . Degree of confidence in employee . The city manager shall file with the city council each year before the time set for the adoption of the annual budget a report of his action in exercise of this authority during the past year.
