1973-4955rRESOLUTION N"O, 4955 RESOLUTION OPPOSING SENATE FILE NO. 646 WHEREAS, Senate File 646 provides that all polling places shall be accessible by ~~l~.eelchair; and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield h,as historically considered accessibility for the aged and the irifYrm: as one of the main prerequisites in designating any polling place within the City, and WHEREAS, municipalities are severely limited in obtaining any available polling places in certain p~'ecincts; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Richfield City Council opposes the adoption of Senate File 646, on the grounds that adherence to the law could be feas~.bly impossible in some circumstances and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to Senator William Kirchner and to Representatives Ernest Lindstrom and James Swanson.
