1972-4919rRESOLUTION NO. 4919 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ORDER THE REPAIR OR REMOVAL OF` HAZARDOUS BUILDING LOCATED AT 6805 14TH AVENUE SOUTH BL IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, as followso I. Pursuant to Sections 463.15 to 463.26 inclusive, Minnesota Statutes, the City Council of the City of Richfield finds that the house located at the above address, on the land legally described as the South 86 feet of the North 172 feet of Block 7, Rich Field Addition, is hazardous within the meaning of the aforesaid statute for the following reasons 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. The electric lighting and wiring is inadequate for the structure. The roof is bowed and needs reroofing and the eaves are rotten. Most of the windows in the residence are broken and the window sills are rotted. Water leaks in around the chimney. The foundation walls are cracked and deteriorated. The exterior walls need residing. The structure lacks a lavatory and cooking equipment. The interior lath and plaster is broken and the interior ceiling is bowed . 2. Pursuant to the foregoing and in accordance with said statute the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to order the owner to correct the above described deficiencie or to remove or raze such hazardous building and that said repair, razing or removal be completed within thirty (30) days of the date of service of this Order. 3. The City Manager shall advise the owner that unless such action is taken or an Answer served upon the City of Richfield and filed in the office of the Clerk of District Court of Hennepin County, Minnesota within twenty (20) days for the date of service of the Order upon hirn, a Motion for Summary Enforcement of the Order will be made to the District Court of Hennepin County. 4. The City Manager shall further advise the owner that if the City of Richfield is compelled to take any corrective action herein all necessary costs will be assessed against the real estate and all necessary expenses will be certified to the County Auditor for collection and that such costs and expenses will be collected as other taxes.
