RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF ISSUANCE
OF SPECIAL SUNDAY LICENSES FOR THE SALE, ON~SALE, OF INTOXICA'~ING
LIQUOR
WHEREAS, state law provides that a municipality may issue special licenses
for the. sale, on=sale, of intoxicating liquor. on Sundays between 12100 o°clock noon
and 12°00 o'clock midnight .at hotels, restaurants or clubs in conjunction witr~ the
serving of food, and
WHEREAS, such special licenses can be issued only to establishments to which
on~sale liquor licenses have been issued, permitting sales on other days of the
week, and
WHEREAS, by law, such special licenses cannot be issued by the municipality
until authorized by the voters of the municipality at a general or special municipal
election, and
WHEREAS, a petition has been received by the city council requesting that the
question of granting authority to issue such special licenses be submitted tc~ the
voters of the city at the next municipal election, and
WHEREAS, the council deems it appropriate to submit this question to the ~vuter
of the city for their determination, as permitted by law,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLV.SD, By the city council of the City of Richfield as

1, A special election is hereby called to be held at the time and polling places
of the general election of the city on the 7th day of November, 1~~2 for the
purpose of submitting to the voters of the-city the following questiono

INSTRUCTIONS TO VO'T'ERS: If you wish to vote in favor of
said proposition, make a cross mark (X) in the square
opposite the word YES. If you wish to vote against said
proposition, make a cross mark (X) in the square opposite
the word. N0.
3. The city clerk shall cause two weeks published notice, and may also
cause ten days posted notice, of the election, stating the time
and place thereof, the location of each polling place, and the
proposition to be voted upon, to be given. Such notice may be
given in conjunction with the general election of the city. The
city clerk shall also post a copy of the notice in his office for
public inspection.
4. The city clerk shall also, at least one week before the election,
publish a sample ballot in the official newspaper of the city and
post a sample ballot in his office for public inspection.
5. Such election shall be conducted, the returns made, and the results
canv&ssed and determined in the manner provided for the regular munici~
pal election.
