RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN ANTI-TRUST ACTLON
~NHEREAS a number of municipalities operating municipal liquor stores are instituting
an anti®trust action against certain liquor and beer wholesalers, supers; and distillers
in the State of Minnesota claiming civil damages for anti®trust violations , and
VITHEREAS the City of Richfield operates one of the largest municipal liquor stores in
the State of Minnesota, and
VVHERF,AS it has an interest in the outcome of sucks litigation action., and
~THEREAS such lawsuit is being prosecuted in behalf of such municipalities by the law
firm of Mastor and Mattson on a contingent fee basis and it is in the interest of the City
to participate with such other municipalities in the use of such leg~41 cqunsel,
NO~V, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield:
(1) The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute a retainer agreement
with the law firm of Mastor and Mattson and authorizing them to prosecute
the above mentioned antitrust action in behalf of the City of Richfiield. Suoh
retainer agreement shall be substantially in accordance with the agreement on
file in the office of the city clerk bearing the designation of Clerk's File #
(2) The Mayor and the City Manager and the administrative staff of the City of
Richfield are authorized to take such actions as are necessary to prosecute
such action in behalf of the City.
