REQUEST TO INSTALL SAFETY DEVICES ALONG ELEVATED
SECTIONS OF I-35W AND THE CROSSTOWN HIGHWAY (CSAH 62)
WHEREAS, the existing situation where there is a lack of adequate safety
devices along certain elevated sections of I-35W and the Crosstown Highway
(CSAH 62) has caused concern for the health, safety and welfare of certain
residents of the City of Richfield, and
WHEREAS, the elevated portion of I-35W and the Crosstown Highway
(CSAH 62) between Third Avenue, Clinton Avenue and Fourth Avenue has
experienced thirteen accidents between March 1969 to the present, any one
of which could have caused serious damage to person or property,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Richfield, Minnesota that the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways
provide adequate safety devices on that elevated section of I-35W and the
Crosstown Highway (CSAH 62) between Third Avenue, Clinton Avenue and Fourth
Avenue adjacent to the northern boundry of the City of Richfield.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield this 14th day of
