RESOLUTION NO ~ 4796
RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PROPOSED SOUTH HENNEPTN
C®UNTY/UNIFLO PERSONAL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM PROGRAM
AND REQUEST AND AUTHORIZATION FOR THE METROPOLITAN
TRANSIT COMMISSION TO SEES FEDERAL FUNDING FOR SAID
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has participated in the study of the
transportation needs of the so-called I-494 Corridor in the Cities of Richfield
and Bloomington acid the Village of Edina; and
WHEREAS, the Richfield City Council has given consideration to
the proposed South Hennepin County/Uniflo Personal Rapid Transit Syster~
Program which would be located within the area which was the subject
of such transportation study; and
WHEREAS, the Richfield City Council believes that the program would
aid the city and the metropolitan area as a whole by providing for study
on an experimental basis of a mass rapid transit system; and
WHEREAS, the Richfield City Council believes that the program would
be consistent with the I-494 Corridor Transportation Study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Richfield a s follows
This council endorses the South Hennepin County/Uniflo Personal
Rapid Transit System Program and joins the City of Bloomington and the
Village of Edina in requesting and authorizing the Metropolitan Transit
System to seek United States Department of Transportation, Urban Mass
Transportation Administration funding for said program.
Passed by the Gity Council of the City of Richfield this 10th day of
