RESOLUTION RECEIVING PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING REPORTS AND CALLING
HEARINGS ON 1973 PERMANENT STREET IMPROVEMENT, ORNAMENTAL STREET
LIGHTS AND APPURTENANCES THERETO.

WHEP.EAS, pursuant to resolution of the Council adopted on the 12th day of May,
1972 reports were prepared by Orr-Schelen Mayeron & Associates, Inc., (Consulting
Engineers) with reference to permrnent street surfacing, ornamental street lights,
concrete curb and gutter and appurtenances thereto and these reports were received
by the Council on June 26, 1972.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota:
1. That the Council will consider the improvement of the districts hereinafter
described in accordance with the report and will consider the assessment of the
property hereinafter described, for benefits from the making of such improvements, the
assessable areas being as follows:
Street Improvement District No. 2.
That area bounded on the north by 66th Street, west by 12th Avenue, south
by Diagonal Boulevard and east by Highway 36; also including Cedar Avenue
from Diagonal Boulevard to 77th Street and the north service drive of
Highway 4494 from 77th Street to 12th Avenue and excluding 66th Street,
12th Avenue and Diagonal Boulevard.
Assessable Area:
_Area_N_o, 1. Every lot, piece and parcel of land lying east of 12th
Avenue ,v south. of 66th Street, west of Trunk Highway 36 and north of
69th Street.
Area Noo 2. Every lot, piece and parcel of land lying east of 12th
Avenue, south of 69th Street, west of Trunk ~iighway 36 and north of
Diagonal Boulevard
Every lot, piece and parcel of land abutting upon or being within
one-half block west of Cedar Avenue frorn Diagonal Boulevard to
77th Street
Every lot, piece and parcel of land abutting upon the north service
drive of Highway ~~494 from 77th Street to 12th Avenue

Property abutting improved streets in the area bounded on the north by
76th Street, west by Penn Avenue, south by Highway 494 and east by 35W.
Street Improvement District No. 5.
That area bounded on the north by 66th Street,, west by Portland Avenue, south
by 72nd Street and east by 12th Avenue excepting 66th Street, Portland Avenue
and 12th Avenue.
Assessable Area:
Area No. 1. Every lot, piece and parcel of land lying east of Portland
Avenue, south of 66th Street, west of 12th Avenue and north of 69th
Street.
Area Noo 20 Every lot, piece and parcel of land lying east of Portland
Avenue, south of 69th Street, west of 12th Avenue and north of 72nd.
Street.
Street Improvement District No. 14.
That area bounded on the north by 62nd Street, west by 11th Avenue,. east by
23rd Avenue and south by 66th Street, excepting part of 62nd Street and part
of 66th Street. Also, the area bounded on the north by 66th Street, west
by Highway 36 Serva.ce Road, east by 21st Avenue and south by 69th Street.
Assessable Area:
Area No. to E~rery lot, place and parcel of land lying east of the back
property line between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue, south of 62nd Street,
west of 15th Avenue and north of 66th Street.

for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements at an estimated total cost of the
improvements for all districts of $4,506,410.00.
2. A public hearing will be held on:
District No. 2.
Area No. 1 on Tuesday, August 22, 1972, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South.
Area No. 2 on Thursday, August 24, 1972, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South
District No. 3.
Areas Nos. 1 and 2 on Monday, October 16, 1972 at 7:00 p.m. at
Centennial School, 73rd Street and Bloomington Avenue South
District No. 4.
On Tuesday, September 5, 1972, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South
District No. S.
Areas Nos. 1 and 2 on Thursday, November 9, 1972 at 7;00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South
District No. 14.
Areas Nos. 1 and 2 on Monday, December 4, 1972, at 7:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue South
Area No. 3 on Wednesday, December 6, 1972 at 7:00 p.m. at East
Elementary School, 66th Street and 20th Avenue South
The Clerk shall give public notice of such hearings on the improvements as required
by law.
