1972-4747rRESOLUTION NO~ 4747 Resolution Concerning Continued Operation of Metropolitan Aircraft So-~~~nd Abatement Council WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has a deep concern for the environment in which its citizens must live, and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has participated in the work of the Metropolitan Aircraft Sound Abatement Council (MASAC) through the faithful and competent services of its representatives , and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield believes the continued existence of MASAC, having equal public representation is essential to the accomplishment of programs needed to alleviate the impact of aircraft noise on all .communities adjacent to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Richfield urgently petitions the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) to reconsider the action taken at its meeting of February 29, 1972 in regard to Metropolitan Aircraft Sound Abatement Council and instead agree to provide MAC funds from its "user" revenues for the total support of MASAC as an autonomous body established in accordance with Minnesota Law and the public desire to advise the MAC on measures needed to abate aircraft noise .
