WHEREAS, Minnesota Sfiatutes, Chapter 138, and Minnesota Statues 465063 au.thor:ize
the destruction of certain city records9 and
WHEREAS, the city clerk is required to keep the following records:
(1) A minute book noting therein all proceedings of the council9
(2) An ordinance book in which he shall record at length. all
ordinances passed by the council9
(3) A finance book in which he shall enter a1.1 the money trans
actions of the city, including the dates and amounts of all
receipts and the person from whom the money was received,
and of all orders drawn upon the treasurer with their payees
and objects9 and
'WHEREAS, the city attorney has given ~rritten approval authorizing the following
list of records for destruction9 and
WHEREAS, this list of records is hereby presented to the council with a. re~
quest that the destruction be approved,
NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota, that:
a., The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to destroy ti,.e
following classes of records: All purchase orders, claims-and vouchers,
and disbursement checks paid prior to January 1, 196.5,
b. All daily cash summaries and validated. cash receipts prior to January 1,
1965;
co All payroll authorization and payroll checks prior to January 1, 19659
do A11 non=permanent accounting reports, miscellaneous papers, and corres-
pondence dated prior to January 1, 19659
eo A1.1 utility 'filling registers, duplicate bi11s, and validated payment
stubs prior to January 1, 19659
f. All blue prints and specifications dated prior to January 1, 19659
g® Bound copies of. the Richfield News A 1951 through 19649
h, Bonds, bond coupons, and. other evide nce of indebte dness which have been
paid and cancelled, or otherwise ret ired more than 10 years, a.s follows:

authority to dispose of records shall be sent to the Minnesota Historical Society,
the Attorney Generals and the Public Examiner, and such records sha11 not be destroyed
but will be sent to the Minnesota Historical Society if the application requesti,~ng them
is received by the cfty within thirty (30) days from the date this application is filedn
