RESOLUTION TO 'APPL~~ FOR :REIMBURSEMENT' FOR
COSTS OF BASIC TRAINING BY POLICE OFFICERS
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Richfield is the official governing
body of the City of Richfield; and
WHEREAS , the City of Richfield is a firm advocate and supporter of a basic
training program for new police officers; and
WHEREAS, the recruitment for new police officers within the city was accom-
plished in the manner prescribed and their employment meets the requirements of
the "Recommended Minimum Standards for Recruitment of Peace Officers. in the
State of Minnesota" , and
WHEREAS ; all terms , conditions , and requirements of the "Rules and Regulations
of the Attorney General for the Recruitment Program of the Minnesota Peace Officers
Training Board" have been met, and
WHEREAS , in applying. for reimbursed. funds , -the city, to~ the best of its: know-
ledge and belief has. complied with and will continue to comply with all applicable
provisions of .Title VI of .the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (P. L. 88-352) , and all require-
ments- imposed. by or pursuant to regulations of the Department of Justice issued
.pursuant to Ghat .t~.tle , and
WHERE~iS , the Minnesota Peace Officers Training Board is providing. the City
an opportunity to reimburse itself for the costs of training for said new police
officers .
NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by. the City Council of the City of Richfield,
Minnesota, that the city shall submit Reimbursement application Forms to .the
Minnesota: Peace Officers Training Board. for funds to defray the cost of salaries ,
expenses, and substitute protection incurred by the City of Richfield while police
officers Edward Cerveny; Edward M . Gabrysh and Michael Sankey successfully
completed the basic training course offered by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal
Apprehension .
