RESOLUTION NO. 4539
_ IN OPPOSITION TO HOUSE FILE NO. 792
RELATING TO COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS
AND JURISDICTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richfield is the official governing
body of the City of Richfield; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed a bill designated House File No. 792
relating to health, county health departments, and jurisdiction to include cities
unless action is taken to be excluded; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield does have an organized, efficient and operating
health department in the City of Richfield and also provides service's through the
Suburban Public Health Nursing Service,• all of which provides for and serves the
needs of the citizens of the City of Richfield; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the adoption of House File
No. 792 would not be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Richfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the CitX of Richfield,
Minnesota that the City Council strenuously objects to the enactment of House
File No. 792.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby directed to forward
copies of this resolution to the Honorable William Ki~'chner, the Honorable Ernest
Lindstrom, and the Honorable fames Swanson, representatives to the Legislature
from Richfield, and that they are hereby requested on behalf of the City of Richfield
to vigorously oppose enactment of House File No. 792.
