RESOLU'~ION NO. 4485 RESOLUTION OF INTENT REGARDING 1970 AND 1971 COMPENSATION AGREEMENT FOR MEMBERS OF THE RICHFIELD POLICE OFFICERS FEDERATION WHEREAS, the city manager representing the city council did enter into discussions with the Richfield Police Officers Federation in accordance with Sectipn 179.50 of the Minnesota Statutes, and WHEREAS, the city manager through these discussions did reach an agree- ment with the Richfield Police Officers Federation, and WHEREAS, such an agreement between the city manager and the Richfield Police Officers Federation must be approved by the city council before the agreement can become effective, and WHEREAS, the city council has thoroughly reviewed the items contained in this agreement and wishes to approve the agreement reached by the city manager witYi the Richfield Police Officers Federation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the City of Richfield that it is the intent of the city council to provide for the following: 1971 Actreement 1. A salary rate of $936 per-month for the top patrolman step. The Jacobs Company recommendations for salary structure and percentage relationships betv~een positions would be followed in establishing other rates for dis- ` patcher, police officer, juvenile officer, police detective and police sergeant. 2. A five-step pay plan as recommended by the Jacobs Company would be implemented . Personnel now moving through the pay grades or at the top step with the exception of dispatchers would be adjusted to permit reaching the top step after three years . Dispatchers would be placed at the same step in the new pay grade that they now hold in the existing pay grade with future step increases to incur on established salary anniversary dates . 3. The new salary rates for 1971 to become effective on the first day of the pay period closest to January 1, 1971, (December 28 , 1970) . 4 ~ The oity will continue to pay the full cost of thn employee health insuranoe prerniu.ms o 5 a All oth®r fri2tge benefits established by the personnel ordinance- will remain unchanged for 1971. .ate n U =2- 1972 Agreement 1. A salary increase effective on the first day of the pay period closest to January 1, 1972, equal to the percent of increase in the Twin City Area cost of living from October 1970 to October 1971 plus 1 percent. Pay plan structure and percentage differentials between positions would remain unchanged . 2. The city will continue to pay the full cost of the employee health insurance premiums . 3. All other fringe benefits established by the personnel ordinance will remain unchanged for 1972.. 1 1 Passed by the City Council of the City of Richfield this 14th day of December, 1970.
