RESOLUTION AWARDING BIDS FOR ICE ARENA CONSTRUCTION AND
SITE WORK
BE .IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, as
follows:
1. That it is hereby determined that the bid of Sheehy Construction Co~.pany,
general contractors; Mayer Electric Company, electrical contractors; Horwitz Plumbing
and Heating, mechanical contractors; Drake Construction Company, refrigeration con-
tractors, are the lowest bids by a responsible bidder for the building of the Richfield
Ice Arena, City Project No. 623. .
2. That the bids of the above contractors for the building of the ice arena at
the price contained in their proposals of September 14, 1970, with estimated costs as
follows: Sheehy. Construction Company, $660,175; Mayer Electric Company, $81,950;
Horwitz Plumbing and Heating Company, $163,780; Drake Construction Company, $122,189,
are hereby accepted.
3. That it is hereby determined that the bid of Orvedahl Construction Company,
general contractor; Electric Service Company, electrical contractors; Park Construction
Company, planting contractors; Greguson's Nursery, irrigation contractors, are the
lowest bids by a responsible bidder for the site work outside the Richfield Ice Arena,
City Project No. 623.
4. That the bids of the above contractors for the site work outside the ice
arena at the price contained in their proposals of September 14, 1970, with estimated
costs as follows: Orvedahl Construction Company, $109,455; Electric Service Company,
$3,452; Park Construction Company, $10,285; and Greguson's Nursery, $4,518, are
hereby accepted.
5. That it is hereby determined to be necessary and expedient to construct such
projects.
6. That the proposed separate contracts between Sheehy Construction Company,
Mayer Electric Company, Horwitz Plumbing and Heating Company, Drake Construction
Company, and the City of Richfield, be given Clerk's File No. 8266 and be placed on
file. That the said proposed separate contracts for the construction of said project
are hereby approved and adopted and the Mayor and Manager are hereby authorized and
directed to execute proposed separate contracts for and on behalf of the City of
Richfield and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to affix the city seal thereto.
7. That the proposed separate contracts between Orvedahl Construction Company,
Electric Service Company, Park Construction Company, Greguson's Nursery, and the
City of Richfield, be given Clerk's File No. 8266 and be placed on file. That the
proposed separate contracts for the construction of said projects are hereby approved
and adopted and the Mayor and Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute
proposed separate contracts for and on behalf of the City of Richfield and the City
Clerk is authorized and directed to affix the city seal thereto.
8. That payments to be made under the terms of proposed separate contracts shall be
charged against the City Project No. 623.
9. That the Clerk is authorized and directed to return the security documents to
the unsuccessful bidders upon the execution of proposed separate contracts,
